For WSB® clean pro, with the patented biofilm technology, the following design options are available:

Solutions for supplementary waste water purification with additional modules for de-nitrification, phosphorisation and disinfection,

Specific process benefits.

The technology works without a return of activated sludge into the biological clarification stage. WSB® clean pro utilizes a biofilm with a thin layer thickness and high cell density as opposed to other biofilm processes, such as trickling filters, biological contactors or continuously submerged packed beds. Its specific properties are the basis for the following process benefits:

Nitrification at temperatures far below 12 °C
Simultaneous nitrification and de-nitrification of at least 30 to 50%
Low secondary sludge occurrence and low sludge production
Microbiological elimination of pathogenic germs
Adaptation of the micro-organisms to toxic materials
No occurrence of process problems in strongly under-utilized plants
Improved oxygen utilization in the floating bed
